New finished items for baby

Here are a few things that I've been working on for a while but have just

finished in the last few days.

Pictures, pictures, pictures...

We've got pictures!!!! Saturday, we went to New Orleans and looked at tons of baby things in cute boutiques and shops and we even bought a baby book. We also picked up the crib and put it together Sunday afternoon. We hung the quilt above the crib and I think it looks pretty good. I also FINALLY have a picture of me with a belly (that you can really see). I'm 27 weeks this week and that means that we should have another 13 weeks or so to go (seems really far away and fast approaching at the same time). We've been very busy between work and de-cluttering the house so I'm surprised that I've gotten the pictures taken like I've been talking about for a while now. I've taken a few pictures of some of the things that I've made for the baby and I've still got several projects that I'm working on so I'll post those as I finish them. So enjoy the pictures and I'll talk to you all later.

Update

Well, I had my glucose tolerance test on Monday (June 2) and while I did pass that with flying colors, I did have to start iron supplements because I am "slightly anemic." I guess that explains why I never did get the "burst of energy" at the beginning of the second trimester that everyone talks about. Hopefully the extra iron will do its job.
As for the little guy, he's definitely getting stronger and I can easily feel slower stronger pokes from knees, elbows, feet, etc. (not yet able to tell what they are) and he will actually poke me and leave the body part there for a few seconds or so. It's still amazing to me and I can't believe how fast this is all going and yet it still seems that September is far far away (I know, it's really not that far away at all). We are going to New Orleans tomorrow to pick up the crib and we will hopefully be able to set it up when we return. We're also going to hit some of the cute baby boutiques and shops in New Orleans.
Hope everyone is doing well. I should have pictures of the bed and my belly up soon (we're waiting on a camera to come in because our other one has been sent off for repairs).

Double Digits!!!!

We've made it to DOUBLE DIGITS!! 98 days to go from here... I am knitting lots of things for our little buddy and I'm currently trying to choose fabric for the curtains in his room (decisions, decisions...). I'm going to take some pictures of all of his hand knit items that I've completed so far so that you can see how nuts I've been (I know, he'll outgrow everything in mere moments but they are all such cute little items I couldn't help myself).
Two days ago I could feel either an arm or a leg just to the right of my belly button. He kept it there for about 30 seconds or so and I could rub back and forth lightly and actually feel the arm/leg!!!
Just thought the blog could use an update...bye!

Congratulations, Amber, on a job well done!!!
My cousin Amber graduated from high school last week and was one of the valedictorians. She received several scholarship offers and will be attending LSU in the fall. Little Miss Smarty Pants...

24 weeks!

Well, I went to the doctor today for a routine 4-week checkup and my belly has grown 3 cm (north to south) since four weeks ago and in total I have gained 10 pounds. I have a bit of a soccer ball for a belly now and our little buddy kicks and moves quite a bit everyday (which makes his mommy really happy) and I can see my belly move with his kicks several times a day. He's definitely getting stronger! His heart rate today was 154 beats per minute and the doctor found it right away with the doppler - boy was it loud! I'll be going for my glucose tolerance test in the next two weeks or so and then I'll have another doctor visit in four weeks. After that I will be seeing her every two weeks.
Keith and I went to a few baby stores this past weekend, bought some very cute outfits, began a registry and we've even ordered the crib (we should be able to pick it up in about two weeks from the store in New Orleans) - we were pretty busy but had a lot of fun looking at all the tiny (and other not so tiny) baby things!
I've had the ultrasound tape transferred to DVD but I have yet to figure out how to load it so that you guys can view it so I'll work on that next. I'm going to get Keith to take a few pictures of me so that those of you who are out of town can see how my belly has grown (it seems to have really "popped" in the last couple of weeks).
